Inflatable Arm Cuff: This is wrapped around the patient’s arm to occlude the artery during measurement.
Bulb Pump and Valve: These are used to pump air into the cuff and let air out of the cuff.
Manometer: This measures the air pressure in the cuff. In a mercury sphygmomanometer, a column of mercury displays the changing pressure.
Stethoscope: In addition to the sphygmomanometer, a stethoscope is used to listen to the sounds of blood flowing through the brachial artery.
